The State/Provincial Envirothon Committee acts as the voting body for the state/provincial Envirothon program and establishes the policies and administrative structure. Some of the committee's responsibilities include:
- Promoting, organizing, and conducting the state/provincial Envirothon;
- Encouraging the recruitment of teams and the development of local/regional competitions;
- Seeking new activities and educational materials for training volunteer advisors and teams; and
- Raising the funds necessary to cover program expenses.
A word from the IASCD: Our state Envirothon program is a hands-on, natural resources competition for high school students. We utilize our conservation partnerships to bring in volunteers working in the natural resource field to teach young men and women the vital balance of conservation and wise use of our natural resources. We want to thank all of our sponsors, and the soil and water conservation districts throughout Idaho for their continued support and donations. The conservation districts in our state have a long history of working with their local schools to encourage participation in the state Envirothon program, as well as other educational programs. Without the districts, volunteers, and sponsors we would not have a successful Envirothon year after year
